Beautiful Town of Pacifica

Who wouldn’t want to feel the fresh air from the ocean. Life is a rollercoaster with many ups and downs, nature always come to ones rescue when we are down. Everyone knows the right thing to do in a good/bad situation but sometimes all we need is a pat in the back or reminder and i guess this is why we have youtube videos and instagrams posts with inspirational quotes to boost your mood up.

Having said that, let me take you through one of the finest places i went to recently - Pacifica, a small town in beautiful state of California.

California is a fun place and it is full of surprises and twists and turns. There are many famous and crowded places but we also have some discrete places which are fun and Pacifica is one of them.

Here are the places i  experienced first hand and would certainly recommend to anyone.

  1. Devils Slide Walking Trail
  2. Pacifica Municipal Pier
  3. Mori Point
  4. Sam’s Castle (This is open only certain days of the week.Check website for details)

Details:

This is how i spent my day in Pacifica and you can chose to follow the same steps or make your own plan as town offers much more than these fine places.

We went to Devils Slide Walking trail. Was fascinated after hearing about this. This was part of Highway 1 but because of issues such as sliding rocks they decided to build an alternate route with tunnels but kept this paved road for exploring and this is fun to walk with beautiful views. This trail is around 2.8 miles round trip which has some benches along the way and there are parking lots on both ends of the road and google maps showed North parking lot which has fewer parking slots and we had to wait a bit to find a spot and it might be tricky on a busy day.Parking lot on the south side seems to be bigger and even the trail seem to be less steep if we start from souther end.Depending on the direction you are traveling, you can even pass through the tunnel if you park on southern end so i would recommend that.Trail has restrooms on both ends and there are some spots in the trail which might get windy so hold on to your hats.

Devils Slide Trail

After finishing the trail, we went to Sam’s Castle and the road at the end was very steep and rough and this is when i parked and browsed to my surprise it is occasionally open  to public only on certain days and the day i went wasn’t one of them. So please check that before you plan to visit.

Later, we headed to Pacifica Municipal Pier and it was beautiful and you can find parking easily among the streets. It might get chilly so have some layers ready. Pier is full of people trying to catch fish, crabs and one can find bait at the shop at the beginning of the pier. Thing to note is the L shaped part of the pier is closed.Once you spend time at the pier which i don’t think is long then can walk to Sharp park beach and the walkway connects to Mori Point via bootleggers steps and this is fun and easy way to get to Mori point. There is alternate way to get to Mori point without taking this coastal way but the parking is limited towards this end. Mori Point itself is huge and beautiful and can be explored multiple ways depending on how you want to explore it. I went the easy way and it is not as difficult and would recommend this to someone who have kids and want to explore it with less difficulty.

We then visited the famous Taco Bell near Linda mar Beach which also offer some alcohol and the this place has nice fireplace inside and a patio to watch the sunset if you were able to find a seat. This might be busy most of the time.

As we drove through the town, we saw some nice restaurants and coffee shops so there will be many things to explore which i will visit in the future and would certainly recommend to anyone who wants to take a breath of fresh air to go have fun.
